St
Ives is on the north Cornish coast which is generally
wilder and exposed to wilder winds and seas than the
south. But because St Ives Bay is sheltered. the town
gives you access to dramatic cliffs with crashing waves,
a surfing beach, and also quiet gently shelving sandy
beaches. Lands End is easy to get to, as are Penzance,
Mousehole, the Minack open air theatre and St Michael's
Mount. The A30 and the main railway line from London
to Penzance both give good access to St Ives. There's
a branch line connecting with the main line at St Erth
with regular trains to St Ives. |
